HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!!

Slide show of how we became a family and How Great God has been to the Glas Family!

Jason and I have been dealing with infertility now for almost 6 years, and I was thinking about how our family is a miracle! People assume that when you adopt that you "get over" infertility issues, which is NOT true at all!! I still have a great desire to carry a child in my womb and to be able to bring life into this world. I still get hopeful ever month that maybe this will be it! It is that hope and then despair every month for 6 years that gets heartbreaking!! Jason and I want more children and plan to adopt more children (as soon as we raise the funds again!!!). And it hit me this weekend that we depend on women to give away their own children in order for us to have children!! I could not image giving up one of my children and yet I am asking that of other mothers. Now don't get me wrong, I would not trade my children for anything in this world!! Those of you who know me know that my three mean the world to me and I love them with all my heart plus more!! It is just that reality has set in that God has created our family to have adopted children and I will probably never experience pregnancy. I am actually overcome with joy to think that God has chosen us to parent these children, how blessed we are!! I do not think I am any less of a mother because I did not carry these children for nine months, and I know that they were created to be OUR children. I know that God has other children out there or to be born soon that are meant to be our children and what a MIRACLE! I hate the comments like, "you had kids the easy way" or "at least you did have to deal with being pregnant", or my favorite "you did not miss much!". For those of you who have adopted know that adoption is not EASY and you wish you had not missed a minute of your child's life. Harrison and Mary Elizabeth we wished 6 months of their life that I wish they had been with us and our sweet Harper, we missed 3 1/2 years of her life. It breaks my heart to think of the situation she lived in for that time with no food and love. But praise be to God that we will never have to miss another minute! I am just so thankful for our infertility because God has blessed our family and what a testimony to Him for His Greatness! That Only God can bring together people from all over the world to make One family!! Kind of sounds like the Church doesn't it!!!!That God can bring people from every tribe, tongue and nation to form ONE family, the family of God! HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!

PJ and Movie day at school

The kids had Movie Day at school today and had to wear their Pajamas! Harrison was a little confused when I asked him to put his shoes on. He said, "we can't wear shoes to bed with our PJ's!!". He thought Mommy had gone crazy! But they all said they had a great day and want to wear PJ's everyday now. Enjoy a few pictures of them in their Christmas Pajamas.

Busy Weekend of Decorating!

We had a very busy weekend decorating for Christmas.
Jason and I have different taste in how a Christmas tree should look. He likes the HUGE, tall and fat trees. I like the tall and thin trees. He got the tree he wanted last year, so I got to chose the tree I wanted this year. However, when we got it home I admitted that it was a little too thin. Ok, it is WAY to skinny!! But it looked fine once it was decorated. This is Jay and the kids standing beside our pitiful little tree!!

After tree and gift shopping we headed out to our fire pit for some chili dogs cooked right on the fire. Jay loves to cook out here even when the temperature is in the 30's!!! You can see below that Dixie was even cold!

Enjoying our chili dogs.

As said in the previous post, Lucinda Bell is quite the water lover. Jay was washing some dishes and she climbed his leg to play in the water!!

Sunday evening I decorated our tree and the kids enjoyed some hot chocolate. No, I do not let them decorate our main Christmas tree! I like it a certain way so I like to do it all by myself!! But before you think I am a terrible mother keep reading!

We are having issues with Lucinda Bell and the Christmas tree!!!

This is our main Christmas tree all decorated!

This is the kid's tree upstairs that they decorate all by themselves! Well I do rearrange some ornaments (I know I have control issues)!

Our mantel in the family room.

Our snow village. The kids love playing with this!

Our stair case.

Our tree in the living room.

Dixie, Shelby, and Lucinda Bell's stockings.

I love to decorate for Christmas but I am glad I have it all done now!!

Cats like water???

I was under the impression that cats hated water! Well not our Lucinda Bell, but she is not a normal cat anyway!! She jumps in the tub with the kids while they are taking a bath and loves to play in the toilet! I told the kids that they have to put the seat down when they are done, but Lucinda Bell waits by the door and as soon as they flush she jumps in (hey at least she waits for the clean water)! Here are a few pictures from today.

She also drinks a lot of water! I usually refill her bowl 6-7 times a day, is this normal?

Lucinda Bell enjoyed playing with all the Christmas decorations that I drug out yesterday! We have enjoyed having her as a part of our family!!
Ok, so I had a little fun with her with the stocking picture!! This is actually one of the dogs stockings!!!

This one of her favorite places to lay, by the air vent with the heat blowing on her! Isn't she so cute!!

Having Lucinda Bell just gives me something else to take pictures of!! I just realized that I have not taken the first picture of my kids all week - what is wrong with me!!!

New Member of the Glas Family...

Lucinda Bell joined our family this weekend!

While we were visiting my Nana Ray we got a chance to see her cat, Fluffy. Fluffy had beautiful kittens, and one boy and one girl were left (9 weeks old). My Nana decided to keep the little boy and no one wanted this precious little girl kitten. You all know that I can not stand the thought of something not having a home, but thought I was allergic to cats (from visit to Humane Society). But after spending the weekend with these cats, I realized I was not allergic to cats but something at the shelter. So after MUCH pleading with Jason we brought home our new kitten. Lucinda Bell was Jason's great-grandmother's name (I asked permission before I named a cat after her).

Me holding Lucinda Bell and her mama, Fluffy.

The kids are so excited about their new kitten!!

Lucinda Bell is the sweetest kitten!! She has already chosen Jason as her favorite person. She follows him around everywhere. We were at the store buying her new bowls, toys, etc. I asked Jason if we needed to buy her a bed and he said "No, because she is going to sleep in the bed with us!" She has won her Daddy over!!

She may have been the rejected kitten, but she is already the princess of our home!

Thanksgiving in Georgia

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

We enjoyed visiting family in Georgia and ate way too much food!

Dixie and Shelby even enjoyed playing at the farm with Honey (farm dog).

The kids got to spend one morning fishing (before the rain started and never stopped!).

Dixie stayed on the edge of the pond and waited to bite the fish.

Harrison and cousin Richard

Harper waiting for a bite.

I got to spend some time with my childhood friend, Nicole, and her family. We have been friends since Elementary school.
Nicole and her husband Clint (who we went to school with too) have three beautiful children.
Harrison, Grace, Kaden, Harper, Abby, and Mary Elizabeth

After eating so much turkey some of us decided we wanted something different! But in small town south GA there is not much to choose from, so we went to the Huddle House!
Jay, cousin John, Harrison, Harper, Aunt Susan, cousin Richard, Mary Elizabeth, and Uncle Randy.

We got the chance to spend some time with my Nana Ray as well!

This picture of Harrison shows how we all felt after Thanksgiving vacation was over!!

Thanksgiving day was also my mom's birthday, and I did not even get a picture of her (sorry Mom). But she is a very special lady who deserves the best!!! Happy Birthday Mom.
No it is time to get ready for Christmas, more GOOD FOOD!!!
