Family walk in the Woods...

Our family took a short walk on the trails in our neighborhood today.
I LOVE the outdoors and just the beauty in nature. It is just a reminder to me of what an awesome CREATOR we serve and how He has blessed us.
The photo below is my favorite, just a single rain drop.

Take the time to look at His beautiful creations and Praise Him for it!

When it is too cold to play outside...

It has been way to cold outside to play and NO snow to go sledding, so Jason decided to create our own sledding game indoors. These type of activities go on all the time at our house!!

Jason going first.

At least they used the CARPETED stairs going to the basement and not the wood main staircase!!

Favorite Foto Friday - EYES!

This weeks theme for Favorite Foto Friday is EYES!
Many of you know that I have a weakness for BIG BROWN EYES, so this was hard for me to narrow down to my favorites.
Below is Harrison when he was just a few days old in Guatemala. From day 1 I was in love with those beautiful eyes.
We never got to see Mary Elizabeth's eyes until we went to Guatemala to see her because every picture we got of her she was a sleep! But I knew she had beautiful eyes in there!
Harper's eyes look so sad in the picture below, she was in Brazil still! She was just waiting for her Mommy and Daddy to come get her and love her forever!

Harrison now knows he can look at me like the picture below and he can get anything he wants!!!
(notice Diego the lizard on his shoulder!!)
Mary Elizabeth likes to flash her big brown eyes at her Daddy to get what she wants!
This picture of Harper is one of my favorites because you can just see happiness and love in her eyes now. She knows she can use her cuteness to get her way too!

Down Memory Lane...

I decided to make Chicken and Dumplings last night for supper. One thing that I learned from my Mom about dumplings is that they have to be HOME MADE! So I put on my apron (and yes it has my name on it, you know everything in this house is monogrammed or personalized!!), cleared off the kitchen island, sprinkled with flour, and rolled out my dough! Notice in the picture below that there is a plate of chocolate chip cookies (NOT home made) on the stove. Are you impressed yet, LOL!!!
The kids pulled up chairs to watch and when I had my back turned would grab some of the dough to eat. This brought back such wonderful memories because I use to do the exact same thing when my Mom made dumplings.
They tasted great and everyone enjoyed them! Thanks Mom for teaching me how to make so many wonderful meals!!! I hope that my kids can learn a few things from me too.

My little country boy with a new hair cut...

My handsome little country boy showing off his new Wrangler jeans and his favorite John Deere hat. He has been wearing a hat since Saturday because he does not like his new hair cut!

Jason took Harrison for a much needed hair cut on Saturday. But my idea of shorter and his idea of shorter is 2 different things!!! See the picture below.

Harrison asked me yesterday, as I was getting him ready for church, if I could put his hair back on!! Poor little boy! But I think he looks handsome no matter what!!

Happy 3 year Gotch ya Day, Mary Elizabeth!!

Yesterday, January 9th was the 3 year Anniversary of the day we had Mary Elizabeth placed in our arms forever!

For those of you who don't know our story, here is the short version: we adopted Harrison and Mary Elizabeth at the same time from Guatemala. Harrison came home November 2005 and Mary Elizabeth came home 2 months later.
This is the first time we met Mary Elizabeth on Harrison's pick-up trip. She was just 4 months old and had her Daddy wrapped around her finger from the start!!
We spent a week in Guatemala before we brought Harrison home, so that we could spend some time as a family of 4.
Mary Elizabeth was the cutest little baby girl we had ever seen!
Mary Elizabeth and her Daddy!
After this shot is when Jason made the comment that she can have what EVER she wants!!
We loved spending that time together.

This picture below was taken the day we had to leave Guatemala and leave Mary Elizabeth behind (not knowing when we would return). We were so excited to have Harrison coming home with us, but leaving my baby girl was the HARDEST thing I have ever had to do!!
But, Praise the Lord, we were able to return just 2 months later to bring our beautiful baby girl home.

Embassy Day

This was taken the day we were headed home.

The picture below was taken a few minutes after we arrived home. I love that Harrison is looking at her like he is thinking, "Where have you been?"

Our Baby girl has always brought joy into our lives.
And she has always been a little Baby Doll!

This look is so true to Mary Elizabeth's personality
Little Miss Attitude!!

She and Harrison have always been inseparable!!

They have always been double trouble!

But Mary Elizabeth was so excited to finally get a sister last year!

Mary Elizabeth is a little princess and we could not image our lives without her. We praise God everyday that He chose us to be her parents!
Happy 3 year Gotch ya Day, Baby Girl!

Hebrew Scholar at 3 years old!!

When Jason was in Seminary, his favorite classes were language classes. He wants the kids to love language as well, so he began teaching them the Hebrew alphabet right before Christmas. Harrison and Harper do OK with it, but Mary Elizabeth has picked it right up and is even writing the letters!! Here is a video of her recieting the Hebrew Alphabet from flash cards, and the cards are NOT in the correct order!

Jason is so proud!!
