A look at my "First" Trimester

Well, my first trimester is almost over and it has been nothing but a BLESSING!
I have not been sick one time, and everything could not be going more perfect. We are very excited and still in some shock that God has been so gracious to our family. Hope you enjoy the pictures below of my journey through the 1st trimester. (I know a picture a week is overload, but hey I have waited over 6 years for this!!)
I started the pregnancy weighing only 97 pounds!!
People said I started showing fast for my first pregnancy, I guess there is no where for the baby to go but out!!
I had a doctors appointment today and got to hear the heartbeat! It was so precious to hear it beating and to think of what a miracle "TooDee" is to our family!
I have never in my life weighed over 100 pounds and I found out today that I am up to 101, YEAH!!!

Comments about Pregnancy...

I thought comments about adoption bothered me, well I found out comments about pregnancy bother me just as much! Here are some comments I have heard:
  • "God finally answered your prayers!" - No, God answered my prayers in 2005 when He blessed us with Harrison and Mary Elizabeth and then again in 2007 with Harper. Now He is answering again with a pregnancy!
  • "Now you are going to have a child of your own." - We have 3 children of our own, we are just adding a 4th.
  • "Now you will not have to adopt again!" - Adoption never took away my desire to become pregnant and pregnancy has not taking away my desire to adopt! We plan on adopting more children as well. Adoption is not just a last resort!
  • "You will see what it is like to have a child the HARD way!" - OK, this one really made me mad!! So far pregnancy is SOOOOOOOOO much easier than adopting! No paperwork, social workers, large checks (the cost of having a baby and adopting is NO comparison), psychological exams, certifications, authentications, dossier, or waiting for unknowns. Also, emotionally it is easier because I know where this child is, what it is eating, and getting proper medical treatment. I just had to hope and pray for my other 3.
  • "Your children my feel bad that they are not the same race as their brother or sister." - They are not the same race as us, their parents. Also, we would love to adopt a child from every race!
I know people just say things without thinking, but somethings just bother me!

Now here are some cute things the kids say about their brother/sister:

Harrison:
"I do not want a sister! There are too many girls in this house!"
"When do we get to go on the airplane to get my new brother?"
"I am going to teach my brother how to tee tee in the woods."
Told his Sunday School teachers,"my mommy is having 3 babies! A baby girl, a baby boy, and a baby cat."
"I want baby chicks instead of a sister."

Mary Elizabeth:
"I want a brown sister like me, but if she is pink like you that is OK."
"Her name has to be TooDee!"
"I am going to teach my baby sister to stay in her bed." (this is funny because Mary Elizabeth has a hard time staying in her own bed!)

Harper:
She just wants to do everything for the baby and does not care if it is a boy or girl! She just wants a live baby doll!

Georgia on my mind

The kids and I had an unexpected visit to Georgia, as I had to attend a funeral of a very close family friend. Since I had to drive all that way we stayed for several days and visited with family. We went to my uncles house and got fresh vegetables, got to see all of his animals, played in pool with cousins, and even went to a 3D movie. Hope you enjoy the slide show below of our trip.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

We celebrated Mary Elizabeth's 4th Birthday yesterday! She already had a party (Harrison and Mary Elizabeth always have a party together) so she thought she had already turned 4 years old! Mary Elizabeth is both the sweetest child and the most sneaky! She is the only of our children that has had to go to the emergency room (more than once) and the reason why we have Poison Control of speed dial! She is also 100% Daddy's girl. She brings us much joy and I am so happy that God blessed us with this precious child. Now if I could figure out to make her spot growing up!

Running around Daddy's school

The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville is a gorgeous campus. The kids and I enjoyed a nice walk around the campus (and of course I had my camera to take some pictures) while we wanted on Jason to finish up some work. Here are a few of the pictures.

Enjoying some beautiful Kentucky Time!!!

Jason and I lived in Louisville, KY for over 5 years while he went to The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jason needed to come back to take a course this week, so the kids and I came along! The kids have enjoyed going to Vacation Bible School at our former church and we have visited with many friends. We have really enjoyed the trip so far! Here are a few pictures from the past few days.

Louisville is a beautiful city that everyone should visit!! More pictures will be coming...
